Counselling
Debbie approaches her work, as a counsellor, from a holistic framework embodying the interrelationship between the mind, body, and spirit/soul.
Counselling is planned through the facilitation of the process towards self-realization which comprise of guidance, encouragement, and Socratic questioning.
Though the counselling route may be challenging to process as an individual, it is not done remotely. Debbie sees herself as an acting agent in the facilitation of a process which enables an individual to sort of their personal issues while cultivating decision-making competence. Debbie works with every individual to foster the trust in listening to their own voices, as opposed to receiving advice. Debbie works from a strength-based model, noting and drawing from each individual’s own resources.
The process evokes inspiration to articulately manage and resolve personal issues while achieving self-determined goals, conquering fears, all in the midst of attaining self-realization.
Counselling can be sought not only at times of crises or change, but during any stage of an individual’s journey.
In working with each individual, Debbie uses different tools to strategize and facilitate counselling sessions to better suit each individual’s needs. Each mode of counselling is carefully selected to cultivate a better understanding of oneself and others in the environment.
Debbie works to generate a safe environment where individuals can come in to openly understand themselves and their journeys.
